In the mixed division, U.S. teams pulled off a sweep, with Ann Arbor Hybrid claiming the gold in a decisive 15-9 win over silver medalists New York XIST, while Fort Collins shame. triumphed over Austria鈥檚 Mosquitos Klosterneuburg to take home bronze. The open division also saw two American teams facing off in the final, with gold medal team San Francisco Revolver playing a tightly contested game against second place finisher New York PoNY. In the women鈥檚 division, Washington Scandal won the final 15-13 over Netherlands鈥� GRUT while San Francisco Fury took the win in the bronze medal game 15-10 over Tokyo Mavericks.

Only two U.S. teams did not medal. Chicago Machine finished fifth in the men鈥檚 division and Boston Brute Squad sixth in the women鈥檚.  Both teams were initially seeded second in their respective divisions but fell to other U.S. teams in the quarterfinals round.

The WFDF World Ultimate 91传媒 Championships are hosted every four years, with the next edition scheduled to be held in 2030. U.S. teams qualify for the event based on their finish at the 91传媒 National Championships the year prior. This year鈥檚 National Championships will return to San Diego October 22-25, where Hybrid, Revolver and Scandal will have a chance to face off against elite competition from across North America in an attempt to claim a second championship gold in 2026. Hybrid may also have the additional possibility of winning back-to-back Triple Crowns. Their hopes of becoming the first team to do so remain dependent on winning the upcoming next weekend. The Pro Championships will be streamed live September 5-7 by 91传媒鈥檚 media partner .

At the last WUCC event 鈥� held in 2022 in Cincinnati, Ohio 鈥� U.S. teams medalled in every division. Seattle Mixtape claimed gold in the mixed division, open division teams New York PoNY and Raleigh Ring of Fire took gold and silver respectively, and in the women鈥檚 division San Francisco Fury took silver and Raleigh Phoenix claimed bronze. This year鈥檚 teams also look positioned to place well, with all nine qualifiers seeded among the top ten in their respective divisions.

In the mixed division, defending national champion 鈥� and recent winner of the U.S. Open 鈥� Ann Arbor Hybrid is the top seed, with New York XIST seeded sixth and Fort Collins shame. seventh, out of the 48 teams in the division.

U.S. teams San Fancisco Revolver (1) and Chicago Machine (2) sit in the top two spots in the open division, with New York PoNY seeded seventh in another 48 team division. Like Hybrid, Revolver is the 2025 National Championship winner and coming off an exciting U.S. Open win.

The women鈥檚 division national championship team Boston Brute Squad is seeded second, behind the Columbian team Medell铆n Macana, which features a roster with names familiar to anyone who follows the 91传媒 club scene. San Francisco Fury is seeded just below Brute Squad at third, with U.S. Open winner Washington Scandal also near the top of the 40 team division at seventh.

The men鈥檚 division final started the day off with intensity. The game was a tight matchup. With changing leads, and Seattle Sockeye taking the game to 14-12, Revolver pulled off an exciting come-from-behind victory to claim their fifth U.S. Open win.

In the mixed division Hybrid took the lead 2-0 and never looked back, winning over challenger New York XIST in dominant fashion. The U.S. Open win, their third in three years, keeps them in the running to be the first team to win back-to-back Triple Crowns.

Washington Scandal claimed a 15-10 victory over San Francisco Fury, only giving up one break over the entire game. The finals win over Fury completes their perfect 6-0 record for the tournament, with key wins over all the other top seeds including Boston Brute Squad and Molly Brown.

Youth 91传媒 Championships

Play continues for the final day of YCC which brings the conclusion of bracket play and championship matchups across all seven age divisions. throughout the final day of competition with all U-20 finals available to watch live. Schedules, stat leaders, and full event information can be found on the YCC event website.

In the men鈥檚 division, defending champions San Francisco Revolver will face off against Seattle Sockeye in an attempt to claim their fifth U.S. Open title. Back-to-back wins would be no new feat for Revolver, having won three consecutive years from 2013-15. Sockeye is back in the final for the first time since 2021, when they won their third U.S. Open title, having won previously in both 2017 and 2019.

The mixed division features Ann Arbor Hybrid, who are looking to claim their third title in three years, having already pulled off back-to-back wins in 2024-25. Should they triumph over New York XIST, their hopes of being the first team to win the Triple Crown Tour two years in a row stays alive. XIST is unlikely to make this easy for them. They are undefeated heading into their first ever U.S. Open finals appearance and in a position to claim their first title.

Also going for a threepeat is San Francisco Fury in the women鈥檚 division. Having previously won the U.S. Open in 2013, 2015 and 2024-25 they are chasing their fifth title as they face off against Washington Scandal in the final. Scandal will be hoping for a repeat of 2023 when they triumphed over Fury 15-13 to claim their first and only U.S. Open win.

Youth 91传媒 Championships

The Youth 91传媒 Championships brought energy and excitement to the fields as they competed alongside the ICC teams on Saturday. All divisions saw upsets as the next generation of competitive ultimate players left it all on the field. At the close of the first day of competition, few top seeds remain undefeated. In the men鈥檚 division Boston DiG (3) and New York PoNY (4) won their pools, but took losses in the crossover round. Washington Truck Stop (8) went undefeated for the day, winning their pool over top seed Portland Rhino Slam! And Chicago Machine (7) also went 3-0 for the day, including a win over San Francisco Revolver (2).

The mixed division saw many tight games with New York XIST (1) and Ann Arbor Hybrid (5) being the only teams who made it to the end of the day undefeated. Boston Slow (2) won their pool 2-0 but fell to Hybrid in the crossover as both teams prepared to enter quarterfinals Saturday morning.

The women鈥檚 division saw many of the early round games won by large margins, with the top four seeds easily winning their pools. Washington Scandal (3) then won over Boston Brute Squad (1) in the crossovers, while San Francisco Fury (2) gave Molly Brown (4) their first loss of the tournament in the final round of the day.

Youth 91传媒 Championships

The youth side of the event kicks off Saturday as 103 teams compete across seven divisions. This year will be the largest YCC event to date, with 2,158 athletes converging in Aurora from youth programs across the nation. For the first time, both the U-20 boys and U-17 boys competitions have D-I and D-II divisions.

Since the introduction of the Triple Crown Tour (TCT) in 2013, only six teams have won all three legs of the tour, and no team has yet pulled off back-to-back TCT wins. San Francisco Revolver, despite winning the crown last year in the men鈥檚 division, has forfeited their ability to attempt the crown this year, as they will not be competing in the Pro Championships. This leaves Ann Arbor with an opportunity only four other teams have had before.

Founded in 2017, mixed division team Ann Arbor Hybrid has had five championship appearances across the past eight seasons. They won their way into the division final in four out of those five years, and are currently coming off back-to-back wins, having taken home the national title in both 2024 and 2025. 

One element setting Hybrid up for success is the consistency of their roster, with only four players from last year not returning for the 2026 season. Among the departing athletes are former national team players Aaron Bartlett and Katrina McGuire. Bartlett was a member of the undefeated 2025 U-24 World Championship Mixed National Team, and is rostered with Chicago Machine for the 2026 club season. McGuire also played for an undefeated U-24 Worlds Team, in 2023, and will be joining other former Team USA talent on Washington Scandal for the upcoming season. Hybrid nevertheless retains a strong core of returning players including former national team athletes such as Rachel Mast ( for 2025), Nathan Champoux, and captain Dalton Smith. U-24 Assistant Coach Tracey Lo also captains the team alongside Laura Gerencser and Jonathan Mast. 

Adding to the challenge is the fact that this summer also includes the in Limerick, Ireland. The Championships are held on a four year cycle, and Hybrid鈥檚 Nationals win last year has earned them the top seed in the mixed division 鈥� the only U.S. team to appear in the top five. Along with the other U.S. teams who qualified, Hybrid will have to balance their attempt at a world title with their desire to remain competitive in this year鈥檚 91传媒 club rankings. 

If Ann Arbor can pull it off, Hybrid will not only be the first team to win the Triple Crown back-to-back, but also the second team to accomplish a national championship three-peat in the mixed division (Minneapolis Drag鈥檔 Thrust won the national title from 2013-15).

Hybrid鈥檚 season starts this coming weekend, at the in Browns Summit, NC where they will face off against other top teams in the mixed division including Austin Disco 91传媒, Boston Slow, Boston Sprocket and New York XIST. The tournament will be by 91传媒鈥檚 media partner Ultiworld.

Coordinator of the Year is a designation given to individual sectional, regional and state coordinators across all competition divisions who have contributed at a high level. The designation recognizes volunteers in these key roles who have gone above and beyond the expectations for their role, consistently contributed season after season or who have made significant efforts toward competition program goals.

91传媒 provides ongoing support and playing opportunities for athletes across a wide range of age and gender divisions. Every year more than 150 volunteer coordinators support this work, however many coordinator positions remain unfilled. Those looking to get involved and support the growth of ultimate can see open opportunities on the 91传媒 website and are encouraged to apply.

The TCT calendar features all the major regular season tournaments in the club division and represents the highest level of competitive ultimate in the United States with more that 600 men鈥檚, mixed and women鈥檚 teams competing each year.

Also published today are the 2026 91传媒 Division Competition Guidelines 鈥� a comprehensive outline detailing the rules, regulations and structure of the upcoming club season and Triple Crown Tour. Teams are encouraged to thoroughly review the guidelines in their entirety. Notable updates have been made to several sections, including changes to regional scaling, updates to fines for withdrawing from major TCT events, and an updated National Draw Process.

2026 Triple Crown Tour Schedule

The following is a summary of each group鈥檚 discussion over the two-day meeting.

The Youth Working Group consists of 91传媒 Director of Youth Programs Dan Raabe, Manager for Youth Competition Josh Murphy, and Regional Youth Directors Jack Kennedy (northeast), Joe Strong (west), Antonia Van Twisk (central), and Jamie Wolf (south). 

A primary goal of the group is to focus on growing the Youth 91传媒 Championships. 2025 provided the opportunity to pilot running both a Division I and a Division II using a satellite field site, which was a success. This will again be implemented for the 2026 season as even more teams are expected.

The group also has plans to do more public survey work in the coming year as they investigate the possibility of introducing a new, more accessible, fall junior season. The goal of this addition would be to grow ultimate in new and emerging markets around the country. Research has already begun with select focus groups, and a sentiment analysis from that effort is available.

Additionally, the group spent significant time beginning the discussion of adjustments for upcoming 2026-2027 Sep-Aug Youth Competition Guidelines (to be released in the summer), including questions and feedback received from constituents around the country.

The College Working Group consists of 91传媒 Manager for Competition and National Team Programs Matthew Bourland, National Directors Trois White (developmental), Jeff Kula (D-I men), Beth Nakamura (D-I women), Grace Kiel (D-III women), and Kevin Kula (D-III men). 

With the start of the 2026 college season next month, the college working group delved into a wide variety of topics 鈥� including finalization of the 2026 College Guidelines. Noteworthy edits include the updated cap on bids to nationals for D-I (maximum of five per region) as well as the previously announced increased D-III cutoff to include schools with up to 10,000 enrollment.

The group determined that 2026 will also introduce a new early-bird registration deadline. Teams with registrar-verified rosters received by 91传媒 by March 4 may add players through March 25. The regular roster deadline will be March 11. Teams who complete a valid roster by this deadline may be allowed to add players afterwards but will be subject to late fees.

Additional work included discussions around future updated Uniform Guidelines and growth conversations regarding reviving dormant teams, supporting new schools, and outreach work needed to grow women鈥檚 division participation.

The 91传媒 Working Group consists of 91传媒 Manager for Competition and National Team Programs Marc Zigterman, National Directors Adam Goff (尘别苍鈥檚), Genevieve Leo (mixed), Mia Griner (飞辞尘别苍鈥檚), and Sam Kehl (women鈥檚 growth), and player representatives Andrew Riggs (尘别苍鈥檚), Jeremiah Branson (mixed), Kirstin Johnson (飞辞尘别苍鈥檚), Clare Frantz (mixed), AJ Merriman (尘别苍鈥檚), and Tayara Romero Pena (飞辞尘别苍鈥檚).&苍产蝉辫;

One of the 2026 season changes coming out of these discussions is the introduction of a Pre-Sectional Regional Qualifying competition. This concept will be piloted only in select sections and divisions with a history of a sectional tournament surpassing 16 teams. The group also discussed updates for the coming year to the 鈥淲orld Cup Draw鈥� procedure for seeding at 91传媒 Nationals. 

Further changes being evaluated for 2026 include the redrawing of the regional boundary to move part of Kansas to the South Central Region/Red River Section 鈥� keeping the greater Kansas City area in the North Central Region/West Plains Section, and the possible expansion of the Select Flight Invite 鈥� making a major Triple Crown Tour event accessible to more teams.

Another key topic addressed was a proposed 鈥渁cademy model鈥� for team development. While the group has determined that model will not be adopted at this time, additional steps will be taken this year to create more support and resources for new and developmental teams. Among these resources are the addition of a new Women’s Strategic Growth Program, which will launch in early 2026, and the development of a resource document for new teams.

Ongoing work for the next year will include evaluation of the roster size limits, discussion of gender signalling in the mixed division, and the revision of the Uniform Guidelines document.

The Masters Working Group consists of 91传媒 Senior Manager of Events and Masters Competition Byron Hicks, National Directors Jason Howard (mixed), Kyle Christoph (men),  Kristi Schmeling (women), and at-large masters working group representative Chris Cianfrani. Christoph, Shmeling, and Cianfrani all attended remotely. Adam Tarr, head of the Formats Committee, was also in attendance as a consultant.

One major point of consideration for 2026 was the allocation of regional bids. Following some anomalies last year, and in the interest of fairness, the decision was made to move away from the current method and to adopt the 鈥淗amilton/Hare method鈥� for regional bid allocations moving forward. This method focuses on awarding bids proportionately, rather than using specific size benchmarks

Participation numbers in the Masters Division grew by 11% in 2025, and the group discussed ways to both continue that trend and ensure the season structure can accommodate future growth. Age division renaming was discussed but not adopted. Topics under ongoing consideration include roster limits and the addition of satellite fields at the Masters Championships in Aurora.

The Beach Working Group consists of 91传媒 Senior Manager of Events David Raflo and Regional Beach Directors Hayden Weaver (Great Lakes), Alex Jacoski (Florida), Grant Boyd (Pacific), Sam Broaddus (Atlantic), and Max Grove (Gulf Coast). Boyd and Grove attended remotely. 

A primary focus of the group鈥檚 discussions was finalization of 2026 timelines, with the due date for applications to attend the 2026 Beach Championships being set for February 9th. Additional discussion was held around the possibility of adding a calendar of sanctioned beach events and/or a qualifying event in future years.

The National Beach Championships continues to be an event seeing year over year growth. In order to continue to facilitate that growth across all divisions, the decision was made to continue offering discounts for participation in the women鈥檚 division.

Additionally, consideration was given toward instituting a requirement that National Team candidates for beach events must have previously participated in 91传媒 sanctioned beach events. This recommendation is still under consideration and will be part of the group鈥檚 work throughout 2026.

Many other previously announced events are returning to familiar locations in 2026, with both the Masters Championships and the Youth 91传媒 Championships taking place in Aurora, CO. 2026 also marks the final year of a three year agreement to host the National Championships in San Diego, CA 鈥� which has hosted the event since 2018.
